Bay A is the primary shooting area of the range. Thanks to its length and overall size, it provides ideal conditions for conducting shooting courses and training with pistols, semi-automatic and bolt-action rifles, as well as shotguns. It is particularly sought after for long-distance shooting and precision shooting training, including both basic and advanced sniper skill development.

- Capacity: max. 26 shooters in static shooting, max. 20 shooters in dynamic shooting
- Permitted firearms and ammunition: handguns up to 12.7 mm, submachine guns, long guns up to 12.7 mm, shotguns up to 12/76, rimfire firearms; specific ballistic performance limits apply in accordance with the operating regulations
- Shooting distances: from point-blank range up to 300 meters
- Direction of fire: primarily along the longitudinal axis of the range towards the main backstop; within approximately the last 10 meters before the front berm, lateral shooting (into the side berms) is permitted under defined conditions
- Shooting positions: standing, kneeling, prone, seated, turning to target, and on the move
- Tactical capabilities: open-area shooting (dynamic firing line), use of cover, movement between positions, multi-positional engagement
- Vehicles: possibility to conduct shooting from and around vehicles in accordance with the operating regulations and the specific training setup
- Helicopter: helicopter-based shooting approved
- Night shooting: under defined conditions, the use of weapon lights, suppressors, and night vision devices (including NVGs) is permitted
